On this most prestigious of all days, Mother’s Day, you’d want to be with your Mom, but I can’t. My mom lives two plane trips away, in a town she grew up in and went to school in 60+ years ago.

Luckily, I’ll be with my mom in just a couple of weeks, when we’ll get to spend days and days together. But now that I’m a mom, I suspect that my mom cares a bit less about spending days and days with me, she wants to spend days and days with my daughter - her grandaughter!

So, Mum, Here is my mother’s day present to you!

I come in a couple of weeks and bring your grandaughter, and you’ll get to spend the days pushing the swing, playing in sand, and teaching her to read!

Happy Mothers Day Mum!

Hi everyone. I’ve gotten a few emails asking where the heck have you been?

I’m here. Life is WONDERFUL! K is now 4 and in pre-school. She loves it and so do I. Mommyhood is the best, but I’m not cut out to be one of those stay at home, teach at home kind of moms. So when the time was right, I enrolled K at the local Montessori and went back to work part time.

So, I’m here, having a ball, and teaching Divine Purpose Unleashed workshops.

Come visit me over on the blog over there.

This blog did crash a week or so ago, and I was able to restore, but I lost the photos. I’m not doing to go back and fix each one, but I think the info is still here. Thanks for asking everyone!

I took the small break in my morning while K’s at school to start
my business back up, (www.consciousdestiny.com) and in the process
discovered something wonderful.

I love what I do. I knew that already, but I’ve gotten back into
it with a passion, creating workshops, talks, presentations. I’m co-facilitating
classes on Living Your Divine Purpose.

This blog will keep going, but I’ll only be posting occasionally.
If you want to keep up with me, or my business, please come visit
me over on my new site. www.DivinePurposeUnleashed.com and re-subscribe over
So, come on over. I’d love to hear from you.

May you live your Divine Purpose always.

So K made it through a whole week of school. In the mornings she complained a bit, wanting to stay home with mommy, but mostly because she wanted to sleep. She’s not quite set in this new new routine of going to bed and getting up early. She’s tired, but refuses to go to sleep if she thinks things are happening elsewhere in the house. This morning is a teacher conference day, (yes already!) and she’s sleeping in.

I always enjoy getting comments and reading the other mommy blogs. Angela and Rhea, left kind words and other Midlife Mommies - Motherpie, and Third Mom Margie left comments referring to the time flying by. I know, I know, I’ve also got two grown (step) kids and five grandchildren older than K. Every time I see them I act like a totally dorky grandmother.

“My how you’ve grown! You must have shot up three inches since the last time I saw you”

The joy comes from watching them spread the wings though, and grow emotionally. K heads off to school each morning, and deals with the dramas that every three and four year old girl (and onward) deal with. Friendship, jealousy, hurt feelings; my heart breaks for K when she sees her new best friend of three days, play with the other new girl ignoring K.

How did us Mommies ever make it through all that drama?

After reading Jennas Magnadoodle blog post (which almost made my cry), I thought I’d give K’s birth mom a jingle on the cell phone.

“K started school today. She did really well! ”

“That’s great. Thanks so much for calling. Let’s talk again in a few weeks. I’m in Albuquerque. visiting my brother”

Huh? The (ex) druggy homeless birth mom with no transportation made it across country by herself?

She’s growing up too. I’m so proud.

I got a call from ‘Ex’s mom. Ex is my past foster son who took to calling me ‘Step’‘ so he wouldn’t have to think about me being his foster mom. Step as in step-mom.

Mom was reported to DHS for having a sink full of dirty dishes. Some neighbor with a grudge.

If that was the criteria for kids taken away I’d be in trouble. As I sit here writing last night’s dishes are in the sink.

Mom though is always in a pile of drama. Someone in her life is always going to jail, or getting bailed out. Her car breaks down in the middle of traffic, or gets towed off while she is at the grocery store. Things happen to her that I only see on TV.

I know about girl fights, money being stolen from her mailbox, getting locked out of her own house for hours. It is always some drama or another.

So when she called me in tears that DHS was coming to inspect her home and evaluate her I’m wondering how she manages to keep such a high level of drama in her life. I find it exaughsting to listen to - never mind live.

DHS comes out this week to visit her. I sure hope that don’t go talk to ‘Step’ at his school. That would be devestating to him. But I can’t count on DHS doing the right thing.

Moms got dirty dishes. Who cares. She doesn’t do parenting like I would. And yea, life is full of the unexpected in her world, but she doing ok.

I hope DHS sees that and sees this report for what it is. A bitchy nosey neighbor.

Step, I’m pulling for you. I hope you get to stay home.
